D Museum, one of the trendiest museums nowadays,
representing a young spirit, always trying unique and innovative exhibitions
that differentiate them from the others.
The most special moments in life, Youth, the feverish of the
youth, and it’s footage.
Part 1. Youth Culture
The moment when entered exhibiting hall, there is another
world that separates from the outside. In the showroom of the underground,
there is a first session of youthful energy begins.
Vivid colours of neon signs and music of various artists'
works fill the space altogether and make your heart beat little faster. It is the
atmosphere of lives, immaturity, passion, and youth.
The Youth Culture, mainly spread by young British teenagers,
aftermath of World War II, Roger Mayne’s photographs are in the first section
at the start of the exhibition.
Through a giant screen in the underground, the video
of Boiler Room, the young music broadcasting platform, is being played
constantly.
The main aspect that makes this
exhibition unique and interesting is that it doesn't only show the work of
artists and photographers, it also 'plays' and runs the artists creations in a
broader range of fields, so that the exhibition itself is the reflection
of the modern youth culture.
Graffiti artist Madsaki’s graffiti work of Justin
Beaver’s ‘Love yourself’ parody makes people laugh. Instead of love yourself,
the artist converged into the word ‘fuck’ that can add wit and shows defiance
of youths.
There are also some art works outside the gallery that
you can find in 5 to 10 minutes’ walk.
Part 2. Youth in Photographs
D museum’s second works with the young Italian – Danish
photographer, Paolo Riley, are situated on the left side of the stairs of the
second floor. The artist captured young couples in beautiful sceneries of
sunset. The dark red light of the background makes photographer’s works
more effective and represents the coexistence of passion and love of
youth.
A use of dreamy colours and raw photographs without after
correction are bringing the wonder of heart. Ryan McGinley, chosen as the most
important photographer in the United States, 2014, shows the passion of youth
with nature in a giant screen as it is.
The large wall full of passionate and youthful
artists is also scanned by the artist, in New York. The artist calculated and
arrayed the pictures carefully so that people can see the intention of the
work.
Masha Demianova, well known as Commercial photography works,
is now mainly focusing on artistic photography as well. Soft colours with
warmth shows lonely and lyrical sensibility, which followed by the confusion of
the fall of the Soviet Union and its system.
Hope you enjoyed the exhibition. Beyond genre of art, youth
culture itself was all around the space.
We all go through youth, we did or we will. The exhibit
confirmed the passion for life that exists in the name of 'youth' that was
there with us over various periods.
